SWEDISH MASSAGE
This is the basic massage in which all other modalities arise from. It is a gentle sliding, gliding and kneading of the skin and tissues. It eases stress, relieves tense muscles, improves circulation and promotes a sense of overall wellness. The pressure of the stroke can vary from light to moderate depending on your comfort level and need. The pace can also vary depending on your goals for the session, slow for relaxation or quick for invigorating. The Advanced Swedish Techniques provide the practitioner with several more strokes that are specific to each muscle group. These techniques often warm the skin faster and can assist in allowing deeper access to muscle tissue for work. Light stretching and range of motion exercises can also be utilized.
CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY:
This is a safe and gentle approach to vibrant health and healing. This therapy works with the central nervous system and supports the rhythmic flow of cerebral spinal fluid. The practitioner is trained to intuitively listen and feel for the body's rhythmic responses with light therapeutic touch. This quiet and intentional still work allows the body to make subtle changes to promote internal healing. Craniosacral Therapy calms and relaxes. It is incredibly useful for everyone, especially those with neurological disorders and chronic pain. This work can be done through a thin layer of clothing.
Myofascial Release:
This is a specialized technique designed to stretch and soften the fascia (connective tissue) in the body. Fascia tissue can often become tight and restricted due to physical or emotional trauma, inflammation or scarring from surgical procedures. These restrictions can cause headaches, pain, limited range of motion and poor posture. This therapy can stand alone or can be incredibly useful to perform prior to Swedish Massage.
ACUPRESSURE:
This is an ancient healing art using the fingers to gently or firmly apply pressure to specific healing points on the body. Acupressure stimulates the body's natural energy flow and can help relieve many acute or chronic conditions, such as: headaches, sinus congestion, tension, pain, depression, nausea and digestive problems. This body work can be performed through a thin layer of clothing.
LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE:
This is a light, gentle massage that encourages the flow of lymphatic fluid through the body's lymph vessels and lymph nodes, which are a part of our immune system. When the lymph system works well, we feel healthy and have a strong defense against illness. This type of massage is beneficial for nearly everyone. It can help decrease inflammation, decrease pain and promote healing after injury or surgery. It can assist in relieving sinus pressure/ allergies. This type of massage is also comforting to clients with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia.
